What this script does

By using Master Quiz you can set up quizzes on your web site. You can set up quizzes, customized to your particular wishes. Then when your visitors take one of your quizzes, you decide what's going to happen. You can either lead them to a generic "thank you page" (without showing the cumulative results of the quiz), or you can lead them to a page showing them the cumulative results of the quiz. And the "thank you page" can be another quiz, which allows multi-step quizzes and also the branching of those. What will happen is totally up to you.

You can also set up the script to automatically send you an email each time someone takes one of your quizzes. Finally, the script gives you the ability to save all the cumulative results from your quizzes in a database.

BTW, maybe you ask, "Why would I want to set up quizzes on my web site? What would that benefit me and my business?"

There are several good reasons for that.

One important reason is that it'll make your web site more attractive to your visitors. Most people like quizzes.

Another very important reason is that it'll give an impression of what your visitors think about a particular matter. For instance, if you have a health related web site, you can ask your visitors about what they consider to be healthy food. This, in turn, will give you an opportunity to gently correct ("educate") your visitors' ideas of what's healthy food and give them a foretaste (probably not physically :-) on what really is healthy food. You can for example offer them to read a short e-report on the question. And of course, at the end of this e-report you can announce your paid product or service, showing your readers even more details about how to become healthy.

Yet another good reason is that you can use a quiz in your sales letter to give it an extra effect. Super Internet marketer, Mark Joyner, has done that - apparently with great success.

Ease of installing and setting up

Master Quiz is very easy to install. Just upload the script-files to your server, using your favorite FTP-program.

Actually, that's all there is to it. It almost sounds too easy if you've ever tried to install other scripts. But that's one of the aspects that has made Will Bontrager's scripts so popular.

Once you've installed the script, you need to customize a few variables in the script on your server. But that's no big deal either. The excellent instruction manual that Will has written (and provided with the script) and the really good control panel, have made it very easy to set up the script according to your individual wishes and needs. At least, I found the script very easy to customize. 

Of course you'll have to spend a little time (probably 10-15 minutes at the most) on setting up your first quiz. But it certainly isn't difficult. And on no point did I feel lost when I set up my first quiz.

After having installed and tested numerous scripts, I can't imagine a script being much easier to set up than this one. I'm not exaggerating. That's how easy it actually is.

Features

Here are some of the features you'll get:

• Everything can be customized directly from the control panel.
• You can set up multiple quizzes.
• Each quiz can be customized according to your wishes.
• After a visitor has taken a quiz, the quiz score can determine which thank you page is presented. And the thank you page can be another quiz, which allows multi-step quizzes and also the branching of those. (Thank you pages are templates so scores can optionally be inserted.) In my opinion this is a really cool feature!!
• If you want to, you (as the webmaster) can get an email each time one of your quizzes have been taken. The email can inform you about the choices that visitor has made and thus give you a good impression of the opinions or knowledge of (some of) your visitors.
• When you've generated a new quiz through Master Quiz, you'll be able to pre-view what the quiz will look like. Thus you'll quickly be able to go back and change the look of the quiz, if you want it look different.
• If you like, each visitor who takes one of your quizzes, will be lead to a page showing the scores for each question.
• If you want to make a new quiz, you can base it on one of your existing quizzes, if you like. This'll make it much easier to set up a new quiz.
• Each quiz can easily be modified.
• Etc. etc.

One of the many features I like in Master Quiz, is the ability to customize each quiz according to your personal wishes and needs. For example, you can set up the possible answers as either single- or multiple-choice answers. And you decide if an answer is required or not.

Another useful feature is the possibility to "specify different scores template page URLs for display depending on the total score of your quiz". This is a really fine feature which (together with all the other features) makes this script rather unique.

One minor criticism is that control panel of Master Quiz is kind of split up in two different parts - one that's automatically password protected (where you configure the script), and another that's not password protected (where you create new quizzes). 

In the other scripts by Will Bontrager, which I've tested, there has only been one control panel, through which you can change both the configuration of the script and set up new forms (or whatever the script does).

It's no big deal in any way. I had just like it much better when all the functions can be run from one control panel. It's somewhat easier that way, and you don't need to password two control panels.

Ease of using

Master Quiz is very easy to use. 

As I've already said above, you just have to invest 10-15 minutes (at the most) filling in the questions and answers you want to use in a new quiz. This part of the script works really well. First you enter the questions one by one. Then you add the possible answers to each question. After you've done that, you just press the submit button, and you've now set up your first quiz.

If you want to change something in the quiz, you can easily do that through the control panel.

Once you've set up a quiz, it practically runs itself (through the script, of course).

And if you want to change anything, just go to the control panel, where you can adjust everything and customize your quizzes according to your wishes.

One very helpful feature of the script are the "[?] links on the quiz creation form pages [which] have context-sensitive help". This means that if you're in doubt about something, you just click on one of these [?] links. And immediately you get a pop-up box with a help text. It's even possible to print out these help texts, just by clicking on a link that's placed in each pop-up box.

The instruction manual and the help texts are very pedagogical. Actually, even if you just read the help texts in the control panel (including the small pop-up boxes mentioned above), you'll almost certainly be able to set up your first quiz - without having to read the instruction manual. That's how good the help texts are. But of course, if you want some extra help on a particular point, just go to the instruction manual where you can get more help.

Finally, as always, Will Bontrager offers his customers an excellent service. If you get stuck on some point in the installation or set-up process, you can just click one of the links to the support-pages on Will's web site. And you can also send an email to Will, asking him to help you. But honestly, in my opinion the support documentation to this script is so good, that I seriously doubt if that'll ever be necessary. Even a complete beginner should have a very good chance of using this script.

Overall assessment

Will Bontrager has created yet another winner! Not only does the script work perfectly, the support (in the instruction files etc.) you get when investing in this script is really excellent. 

I just used the "investing", when I talked about buying this script. And I really mean that. 

Buying this script can be a real "investment" for your web site and your business. You'll get an excellent script that'll turn your web site into a more interactive site and make it possible for you to add more people to your opt-in list.  

The last point is extremely important. 

If you want to use Master Quiz for adding more people to your opt-in list, you should of course always tell your visitors in clear terms that by entering their name and email address, they're added to your opt-in list and that they can easily un-subscribe at any time. You don't want to be accused of spamming anyone, as that'll hurt you and your business much more than it'll benefit you.

There are of course many other potential reasons for using this script.

But, to make a long story short, this is another excellent script created by Will Bontrager, which is absolutely worth adding to your web site arsenal.
