There's no doubt about it: Software sells. Yes, and it sells like crazy.

when you sell software you sell a tool and people always need tools

But in order to get your own software products, you need to be a programmer or to hire a programmer, don't you?

It use to be that way. But not any longer, says Mike Chen, famous programmer and marketer.

Mike Chen claims that he has created a complete system that enables you to create your own software applications - even if you don't have a clue about programming. Even if you've never programmed a single line and don't know programming in C++, Delphi or Java from cooking French food.

When I opened this package, I really wondered if Mike Chen had hyped it a bit. "Can you really create your own software products - even if you don't have a clue about programming," I thought to myself.

Again, Mike Chen claims that you can, and I decided to test it.

What you get

When I opened the files Mike Chen has enclosed in this package, I discovered that it consists of a few PDF-documents, several ready-to-use templates and Mike Chen's software tool that he claims makes it possible for you to create your own software products.

First of all, when I opened the PDF-documents I was pleasantly surprised that Mike has resisted the temptation to spread the information over too many pages. When you read as much marketing information as I do, you come to appreciate it when someone can create a product that's short and right to the point.

And that's exactly what Mike Chen has done. The PDF-documents are short and easy to read and understand - despite that fact that most people consider software development to be extremely complicated.

At the same time they're detailed enough to do the job. You get everything you need to handle Mike's software tool which presumable enables you to create your own software applications.

The PDF-files both contain a good manual that shows you to operate the software creation tool in the package. But you also get some additional guides that show you how to benefit even more from Make Your Own Software. But more about that in a minute.

Does the software creation tool work?

When I tested Mike Chen's software creation tool, I didn't know what to expect. So, I was eager to find out. And of course I also wondered how easy it is to use.

The software creation tool was very easy to install. You just double click on it, enter the username and the password you've gotten when you ordered it. And that's about it. Then it's ready to use.

The display is really fine. You get a good overview, and I was actually able to use it right away, even without having to read the PDF-manual. Anyway I consulted the manual to be sure that I didn't do anything wrong. However, I discovered that it's almost impossible to do anything wrong.

One really fine feature at this point is the help column positioned at the right side of the interface of the software creation tool. In this help column you get some important hints for each step in the software creation process.

This is really a great help.

If found it very easy to create my first software product.

The kind of software products and applications you can create are not very complicated and very complex kinds of software - at least not if you use the basic mode in the software creation tool.

However, if you use what Mike Chen calls the 'Literal Mode' you can create some more complex software applictions. But then you need to know something about how to write JavaScripts which is not terrible difficult, but still a bit more complicated that just using the basic mode.

However, I didn't find that to be a problem. Some people have gotten the impression that software products always have to be terrible complicated and complex. But nothing could be more wrong.

In fact, even if you just use the Basic Mode in Mike Chen's software creation tool, you can create the same kinds of software products that are presently sold for $97 or even higher. I know several such products, and with this software creation tool in your hand, I don't see any reason why you couldn't make one too.

So, there's no need to think that people only buy the more complex software applications.

People buy a product if they think it'll help them to solve a particular problem and reach their goals. It's just like how-to information products.

How to sell your new software products

One very commendable part of this course is that Mike Chen doesn't stop with the creation process.

He doesn't just show you how to create your own software products.

He also shows you how to sell your software products. And that's extremely important.

Remember those $97 software products that I mentioned above? Some of these products primarily sells because the owners are good at marketing and selling them. Not because they're that unique compared to other software products.

That's how important it is to know how to sell your products. And in this respect you don't get a better and more qualified guide than Mike Chen. He's personally sold several software products successfully and really knows what he's talking about.

Besides, you also get an interesting bonus report called, "Secret 'Script Ripper' Trick". In this report Mike Chen shares some really valuable - but hush-hush secrets - about how to create web scripts that you can sell. This report is also relatively short and an easy read, but it's an extremely important report that's really help you to move forward.

In addition to the reports I've also mentioned, you also get a guide that shows you how you can get good software product ideas. That's another really point.

Many software developers house the false belief that if they just create a good product then people will come to them in hoards and buy it.

Nothing could be more wrong!

Some of the best software products have failed miserable.

The secret to become successful in the software development business is to 1) find a idea for a product that people want to buy, 2) create a product that they want to buy, and then 3) market it.

Of course there are other important factors, but these three factors are among the most important.

And all in all I think Mike Chen has done a really good job in helping you to take the steps to fulfill the conditions I've just listed above.

He doesn't over-complicate things, but he goes right to the point and shows you how to get into the lucrative software market.

Does this product cover everything? Isn't there more to say?

No. But it's definitely a very good start, in my opinion.

At least, when I tested the Make Your Own Software package with its' tools and guides, I was pleasantly surprised with the results. You know, when you've only invested about 20-30 minutes and the result is your first windows software that looks just the ones you use to pay $47 or $97 for, you can't help but being impressed. At least I got!

Finally, one outstanding part of Make Your Own Software, are the templates you get with the package. These templates enables you to create your own software products even faster.

When you've opened the software creation tool you just choose one of the ready-to-use templates, and voila, in a couple of minutes you've created your own software product that enables your customers to make their own marketing plans, generate address labels, web sites, affiliate contact lists, pop-up generators etc. etc.

Of course you can also change and customize the 17 or so ready-to-use templates you get. Or you can add new features or information to them, if you like. Thus, you'll get your own, totally unique with the least amount of work.

Almost - but only almost - sounds too good to be true, don't you think.

This is really an outstanding feature. I was really impressed by this feature. Now there's simply no excuse for not making your own software product that you can immediately go ahead and sell.

Overall assessment 

This is truly an impressive product!

It's easy to use and the results are impressive too - at least if you aren't a profession programmer.

However, even if you're already an established programmer you may still find the product useful as a way to create niche software applications in the minimal amount of time.

The software market is a large and growing market. Software products have a high perceived value and because they're tools, people need them. Every day new fortunes are made by people selling software on the Internet.

Make Your Own Software is really a great help to make your own software products - especially if you want to target smaller niches in which no professional programmer would be enough interested to spend their time and money.

But by using Make Your Own Software it's now possible for practically any one to target a small niche with software products created just to fulfill the particular needs in this niche.

If you're interested in entering the lucrative software development market, you'll find both the software creation tool and the accompanying PDF-guides and -reports really helpful.

In short, this is a product I highly recommend you to invest in if you're interested in entering the software market.
