How To Use A Charity
To Increase Your Profits
AND
Reduce Your Taxes
by Michael Ross, author,
direct marketer and consultant
"Never
be discouraged,
because every wrong attempt discarded is another step
forward!"
You'll notice by the headline
that I'm going to reveal a little trick that lets you use a
charity organisation to help you increase your profits. But
before I do, I need to tell you how charities basically work.
Firstly, charities do not pay
any taxes. As far as I know, this is standard across this ball
of mud we all live on.
Second, when you donate to a
charity it enables you to claim it against tax - a tax
deduction. Again I think this is standard across the globe.
What this means is that if YOU
donate $10 to a charity organisation, that's $10 you do not
have to pay tax on. So now you know why some of the wealthiest
people donate huge amounts to charity organisations - they pay
less tax.
"Yeah we know all that.
But how does that help us increase our profits?" I
hear you ask. Well pay attention because you're about to
discover exactly HOW a charity organisation can help you in
two ways. It is perhaps best if I use an example to show you
this technique.
Lets say you own a restaurant.
Lets also say that the average customer order comes to $40 -
$30 of which is profit. Normally, after your accountant has
been at the figures, you would pay tax on what was left of the
$30 profit after advertising and so on has been taken out.
Now here is where the charity
organisation comes into it. Instead of giving all your
advertising money to the newspaper for ads, or the print shop
for flyers, you give it to a charity - you now have a tax
deduction.
Now before you all go rushing
out to start giving your money away just because I said so,
wait a bit to hear the rest of this technique.
Instead of just giving your
money to the charity and only getting a tax deduction, give
your money to the charity in such a way that THEY can use it
to make money.
Using our example lets
continue. You own a restaurant, and the charity you will give
to is your local scout group. Instead of giving them money,
give them something else. Give them discount vouchers they can
SELL! Give them a voucher that entitles the holder to receive
a dinner for two for only $20.
Here's how it works. They sell
the voucher for say $5. The person that bought this voucher
now has a $5 tax deductable donation AND a voucher which lets
them have a dinner for two for only $20 (half the normal
price). This 'loss of profit' is YOUR tax deduction. And the
scout group has the money they need for more scout stuff.
Once the people come to your
restaurant you grab hold of their names and addresses, and use
that info to send them more sales letters to keep them coming
back.
Can you see how this works?
Everybody is happy! Everybody comes out infront. You get new
customers with no advertising costs. YOU get a great tax
deduction. Your customers get a bargain meal and a tax
deduction. And the scout group gets the money they need.
But you don't have to own a
restaurant to use this technique. Virtually any business can
use it.
A dry-cleaners could give
vouchers that are full of different discounts. A car cleaning
business could give special discount vouchers. A clothing
store could give discount clothing. A health store or gym
could give away their products and services. And on and on it
goes. There is always something that you can give to encourage
people to use your product or service. You just have to figure
out what that something is.
Once you have figured out what
that is, put a twist on it and give it to a charity so they
can sell it.
Try this, it works!
May the success you achieve
be a direct result of the effort you put in!!
