Review

How do you get more customers to your business - and mind you, more loyal, satisfied and returning customers?

There are many different opinions on this point. And some are better and more qualified than others.

According to the author of this course, John Jantsch, one of the very best - yes, maybe even the best - ways is to get more and better referrals to your business.

John Jantsch bases this claim on his years of successfully working as a marketing consultant with all kinds of businesses.

This also appears when you read all the success stories he has included in chapter 10 of "Referral Flood".

What do you get in this course?

John Jantsch's course is only around 100 pages long (plus the audio CDs you get with the course). And I like that. Way too often marketing courses are terrible long and voluminious. Personally I prefer to get the content, I've purchased, as quickly as possible without having to spend hours and hours trying to digest it.

So, that's a very commendable aspect of this course.

At the same time "Referral Flood" is fairly detailed with step-by-step descriptions, templates etc.

John Jantsch has built the course as a system approach to Referral Marketing.

In first six chapters he defines Referral Marketing and shows you why it's such a good idea to focus on this kind of marketing.

He shows you the many advantages Referral Marketing has over other kinds of marketing.

He shows you which businesses and trades will benefit the most from Referral Marketing. In fact, according to John Jantsch, almost every kind of business will benefit from focusing on getting more and better referrals.

In chapters seven to nine he shows you how to get referrals by creating a word-of-mouth effect. In these chapters you get dozens and dozens of practical suggestions as to how you can implement Referral Marketing into your particular business.

I've now studied effective marketing methods for ten to fifteen years, but I must admit that some of John Jantsch's methods were new to me.

John's descriptions are short, but right to the point. At least, when I read his description of each referral strategy I felt well equipped to go ahead and use them in a real-life business.

I've often heard business owners claim that you can't do much yourself to generate more referrals to your business. But in chapter 10 John Jantsch proves that this scepticism is deadly wrong.

In this chapter he shares success story after success story that clearly documents how practical and effective these referral methods are in real-life businesses of all kinds.

These success stories are picked from all kinds of different trades and businesses - both retail business, service business, business that sell products etc.

In the remaining chapters John Jantsch 'takes you by the hand' and shows you exactly how you can benefit from using his word-of-mouth methods.

These chapters contain much more than a narrow step-by-step guide to formulating a refferal strategy for your business.

John Jantsch emphasizes the importance of laying a strong foundation for Referral Marketing strategy. He shows you the intimate connection there is between a successful Referral Marketing strategy and such marketing concepts as positioning your business, finding a good target market, defining and communicating a strong USP. And he covers several other important factors in this part of his course.

Finally, in the appendix part of the course, John gives you all the templates you need to implement his Referral Marketing principles into your business.

These templates are great. In my opinion these templates are a very important part of the course.

Of course you could create some of them yourself, based on the rest of the course. But by having added them to "Referral Flood" as an appendix, it's very easy and convenient for you to begin using them right away.

My opinion of this course

John Jantsch's "Referral Flood" course is a very systematic approach to Referral Marketing. He carefully shows you exactly what it is, how to do it, what to expect and the pitfalls you have to avoid if you want to succeed.

When began reading the course, I found the first chapters a bit boring. This is the part where he lays the basis for his Referral Marketing system. There are a few repetitions and some parts of these chapters seem almost too obvious. But at the same time this part of his system is important in order to get a proper grasp of it all.

At first sight, I stumbled over one particular point John Jantsch made in these first chapters. He advices his reader to tell his (or her) client: "You, new client, are going to be so pleased with the way we do business that you are going to refer 10 new clients to us in the course of the next 12 months. In fact, this is part of your responsibility in the business relationship."

Now, I don't know about you, my dear reader, but to me this sounds a bit unrealistic. I think many potential and new clients will be taken off if you just jump ahead and tell them this in the beginning of your business relationship.

However, when I read the following chapters John Jantsch cleared this point up for me by explaining in more details exactly how to implement this into your referral strategy. There he explains in more details how to create the right business context in which you can really use this saying to get many more referrals from your new clients.

In fact this way of preparing your new clients to work along with you in getting more referrals, is a very effective and brilliant part of John's system. But I got a bit confused when I first read the short version of this strategy. However, it was fully cleared away in the later chapters.

It's evident that John Jantsch's Referral Marketing methods and strategies has gone through the test of many years of real-life use. They've been polished and customized until they form a complete system that really works. At least, I was surprised how easy it is to apply all those fantastic strategies to your business.

Overall assessment

My overall impression of "Referral Flood" is really good.

Despite a few repetitive parts in the first few chapters, I'm generally surprised how compact this course is. It's quite impressive just how much high quality information John Jantsch has crammed into this course.

It's evident that John Jantsch really knows Referral Marketing inside out. His methods are tested and tried, and they work in all kinds of businesses. Chapter 10 (with all the many success stories) is clear evidence for this.

This is really hot information for any business owner who wants to get highly qualified customers for his (or her) business without having to wait for months and months.

John Jantsch shows you how to implement his methods so that you'll see results very quickly, and his creative methods often surprised me. Many of the methods I already knew. But others were new to me.

All in all this is an excellent course which I highly recommend if you want to get more customers to your business.

John Jantsch has really gone to great lengths to create a complete system that'll for almost every business that I can imagine - even businesses that can't use other kinds of marketing.

I strongly recommend you to place this course on your wish list. It's that good, in my opinion!
