Review

Some years ago I bought Joe Vitale’s printed book, “Hypnotic Writing”, directly from Joe Vitale himself. “Hypnotic Writing” was Joe’s on how to write much faster, more persuasively, and how to sell your products through your writing. Then, some time ago, Joe Vitale joined Mark Joyner, CEO of Aesop Marketing Corporation,  and published an e-book edition of “Hypnotic Writing”. This e-book became such a success that Aesop published a sequel, titled “Advanced Hypnotic Writing”.

When you buy Joe Vitale’s “Advanced Hypnotic Writing” course, you not only get the “Advanced Hypnotic Writing” book itself, but also Joe’s first book, “Hypnotic Writing”. So this is Joe Vitale’s complete course in copy writing and writing in general.

In “Advanced Hypnotic Writing” Joe Vitale tries to show you the insider secrets of becoming a really good copywriter. He does so by going beyond the normal copy writing rules and moving on to show you the PSYCHOLOGY behind successful copy writing. Joe shows you how the readers of your sales letters THINK. And when you know how they think, you can also write copy that really appeals to their deepest wishes. Then you know what MOTIVATES your readers to buy your products or your services. Because, copy writing has a lot to do with creating dreams in the heads of your readers, by promising them that your product can help them to improve their life. But Joe emphasizes that it’s imperative that you don’t use his information to cheat or deceive your readers. It’s vitally important that you really believe in what you’re writing. Yes, ideally, your product should be even better than your sales copy. In other words, you should over-deliver.

At the same time Joe’s book is practical. For instance, his chapter on how to write headlines is really practical and very easy to apply when writing headlines.

In my opinion Joe has written a really good course. It’s somewhat different from some of the other copy writing courses on the market, such as those by Brian Keith Voiles, Bob Serling, Marlon Sanders, David Garfinkel, Robert Boduch, Joe Sugarman and Dan S. Kennedy, just to mention a few of the very best courses on copy writing. But it supplements these courses well, and Joe adds his own unique wisdom and experience to the common rules of successful copy writing.

At first view “Advanced Hypnotic Writing” may seem a little bit unstructured at some places. I admit that this was my first thought, when I flipped through the book.

For instance, suddenly – in the middle of Joe’s guide to effective copy writing – there suddenly is several chapters on how to write effective news releases.

This seemed a little bit confusing to me at first. But I soon understood that this actually is an integral part of Joe’s copy writing technique. Joe’s book is not unstructured at all. Actually his integration of writing pure sale copy and writing news releases, is part of his genius. Joe’s point is that too often sales letters are written according to a pattern that makes it too easy for the readers to sense that they are now going to be sold at. The underlying problem is the same old mistake, that the marketer is being too egoistic and forgets to place himself in the shoes of his readers. So, that why, according to Joe Vitale, a good sales letter often has much to do with a good  news release than most people realize. Of course there’s a difference. A news release is not a sales letter. But many copy writers could write better sales copy by learning how to write effective news releases.

It’s precisely at this point that Joe’s copy writing technique differs from that of most other copywriters. For instance, all over the Internet you see marketers trying to sell their products or services through hard-hitting sales letters. They use all the tricks that they’ve seen others using. But still they wonder why not more people are buying from them.

In “Advanced Hypnotic Writing” Joe shows you that one major reason why so many sales letters aren’t selling, is that they look precisely like that – sales letters. The letter almost screams in the face of the reader, that it’s a sales letter. But I really like Joe’s way of showing you how to avoid this trap and write sales copy that gets read and then leads to more orders.

You really get some insight into both the art and the science of writing successful sales copy and writing in general. And much of this information you won’t easily find anywhere else.

Joe has made it easy for almost anyone to become much better at writing faster, efficient and persuasively. His style is very easy to read, understand practice.

Just like all the other books and courses published by Aesop Marketing, this product has a very professional and nice look. I think the only little mistake I found in this book, was a dead link to an URL where you can look for Robert Collier’s famous book. But you get the link later (Carl Galletti’s site), so it’s no problem. This tells you something about the high quality of the products published by Aesop.

Included as bonuses to “Advanced Hypnotic Writing”, are chapters by several prominent guest writers, such as David Garfinkel, Robert Bly, Joe Sugarman and others. Each of these contributions are valuable and supplements the general message of the course well.

Besides, as I’ve already mentioned above, you get Joe’s first book “Hypnotic Writing”. In this book Joe covers how to write whatever you write much faster, how persuade your readers through your sales copy etc. “Hypnotic Writing” concentrates more on effective and captivating writing in general than writing sale copy in particular. But you get a lot of really valuable information in this book. I’ve found it very inspiring and helpful.

Summary

Joe Vitale has produced a very, very valuable and useful course. And compared to much of the crap that you’re offered on the Internet, this course really shines.

Learning how to write order pulling sales copy, is one of the most important skills you can learn as an entrepreneur. And in this course Joe Vitale really shows you how to do that.

I strongly recommend this important course if you want to learn how to write persuasively. This is a terrific package, and you’ll a lot about really successful writing, and sales copy writing in particular. I count it to be one of the best and most helpful courses on how to write compelling sales copy.
