Review

You probably already know Joe Vitale. If not, you're definitely in for a pleasant discovery.

Joe is one of today's foremost experts on such subjects as writing, copywriting and marketing. He has already written extensively on these subjects, and he is widely recognized for his insight in these subjects.

Joe Vitale is famous for his ability to communicate difficult and complex material in a way that's easy to understand for everyone. And personally I think a lot of other marketers could learn a lot about how to really engage the reader through writing. Joe's writings are always informative and right to the point, and never dry or boring.

This book by Joe is different from most of the other books written on how you can create your own information products for the Internet.

As you probably know, most books on Product Development for the Internet, tell you to create ebooks. And there's no doubt about it that ebooks are incredible popular. BTW, Joe has co-authored an excellent book on how to create ebooks, which in my opinion is one of the best books on the subject.

However, there are other and sometimes better alternatives to ebooks. Some of these are almost totally overlooked by most information marketers. One of these are the so called e-classes.

What is an e-class?

There are several different kinds of e-classes. But to make a long story short, an e-class is typically a an interactive course on a certain subject. The lessons in an e-class are usually distributed to the members through email. But you could of course use other means as well, such as online chats.

Why e-classes?

But why should you consider creating an e-class?

There are several good answers to that question.

First of all, e-classes are very fast and easy to set up. Instead of spending weeks or even months on creating an ebook, you can create an e-class in a matter of hours.

Secondly, e-classes can be very, very profitable.

Joe shares how profitable such classes has been for him personally. Thus, he tell how he sent an offer to his optin list. At the time when this book was published, Joe's list consisted of just 3,100 subscribers. If you know a little bit about optin lists, you also know that 3,100 isn't normally considered to be a big list.

What really surprised Joe was how profitable this mailing and offer was. From that offer he earned $22,500.

It's actually very strange, but experiences has shown again and again that the basically same information can be priced at very different prices, depending upon the format they're sold in. Thus, the same information can often be priced much higher if it's packaged as a series of audio-tapes or video-tapes than if it's packaged as a retail paperback book.

It's not that the audio-tapes or video-tapes themselves are much more expensive than the book. The tapes can often be acquired for a few dollars or maybe even cents, if you find a good retailer. No, it's rather that the audio-tapes or video-tapes have a higher perceived value than the retail paperback book.

And that's also part of the explanation why you can charge a very high price for an e-class.

Another explanation is that e-classes can be customized much more to the needs and wishes of the customers. In other words, the members of an e-class can receive much more individual and personal information that addresses precisely their situation.

Overall assessment

In "How YOU can Make $5,000 to $15,000 in Only Weeks Teaching Your Very Own E-mail ONLY E-Class" shares his own experiences with creating, marketing and selling e-classes. In his typical no-nonsense style, he shows his readers step-by-step how they can build their own e-classes.

If you'd like to know how to make your own successful e-classes, I think Joe Vitale's book is a very good place to start.
