"So, who am I?
I consider myself sort of a quirky mixture of a kitchen table entrepreneur, product developer and marketer. I have owned and operated a number of businesses including restaurants, advertising sales, mail order, publishing and retail.
I dropped out of college at age 19 to open a video arcade which led to my first business failure 6 months later. But, that failure was probably the best thing that ever happened to me. It taught me 3 things:
Failure is not the end.
It is better to attempt something and fail than to attempt nothing and succeed.
Never go into business with the NC mafia. (a story for another day!)
Like the businesses I have owned, my career has been varied and challenging. After my business failure I worked as a restaurant manager. At the end of 7 years I had worked my way up to general manager and part owner. So, like any red blooded entrepreneur would do after achieving success -- I quit and started over again.
This time I worked in the banking industry, I started out in an entry level position as a data entry clerk (I can punch 10,000 keystrokes per hour!) Five years later I was VP of Software Development for the Structured Products Technology Department of First Union National Bank. (now Wachovia)
Wanting to avoid ever having to write that title again, I went to work with a small software development company called CMi Solutions. I stayed with CMi for 2 1/2 years where I spent most of my time developing a data exchange vortal for the convenience store industry. In October of 2002 I left CMi to concentrate on developing my own line of software and information products.
I am the developer and publisher of several information products including:
Fax Cash -- an ebook about starting a restaurant lunch special fax advertising business.
Underground Business Ideas -- a member's only site about unique and unusual businesses.
Paid Participation Network -- a member's only site that lists paid participate companies.
I also publish two e-zines, the Biz Idea Journal and Paid Participation eLetter.
In May I released ClickSalez, a software product that allows users of ClickBank to download and manage their sales data offline.
I am single and live in Charlotte, NC with my research assistant -- a 2 year old Boxer named
Skylar."
