Review

“Web Site and Ezine Promotion Made Easy!” is – as the title also says - a guide to promoting your web site and your ezine. Now, there already is a lot of ebooks on Internet Marketing, especially how to promote your web site. So I was excited to see what Dirk Dupon could offer in his book, “Web Site and Ezine Promotion Made Easy!”

“Web Site and Ezine Promotion Made Easy!” has some of the same information that you’ll find in almost every book on Internet Marketing, such as how to cause your web site to rank higher on the search engines by optimizing it’s meta tags, keywords etc. But in addition to these common tips, Dirk has also included his own unique approach to promoting a web site and an ezine.

It’s my impression that Dirk has collected all the resources and tools that he personally has found most useful when trying to promote his own web sites and ezine.

And you’ll get a lot of information when you buy this book by Dirk Dupon. Dirk has really packed his book chock-full of helpful information. And it’s evident that he has put a lot of work and effort into his book. As already mentioned, you get a lot of helpful tips on how to improve your web site and your ezine. And if you don’t have an ezine yet, Dirk will even show you how to set up your own ezine. You’ll also learn how to create, publish and market your own ebook and then take credit-card payment for it. And you’ll get a lot of other tips that can be really valuable for you. Besides, you get links to web sites where you can promote your web site, product and ezine for free or for a very small cost. You also get links to web sites where you can find valuable, free or low-cost software you can use in your promotions.

“Web Site and Ezine Promotion Made Easy!” is more a workbook than a theoretical treatment on the main factors in Internet Marketing. And that’s precisely the strength of Dirk Dupon’s book. I’ve found it to be really practical and immediately useable. The many links to tools, resources and web sites where you can promote your own web site and ezine, makes this book a workbook that you want to keep on your side whenever you want to pull more targeted traffic to your web site and more subscribers to your ezine.

If you want a highly structured, theoretical treatment on the science and art of Internet Marketing, this will probably not be the book for you. But if you can use a lot of tips and links to useful resources and tools, this will probably be a book you can really use.

I really like Dirk’s way of giving you a lot of links in this book. After a while you get tired of reading the same old advice on Internet Marketing repeated over and over, just with slightly different words. So it’s refreshing to both get a fine overview over the whole process of promoting your web site, plus getting an easy way to find the exact resources you need in order to the job.

The visual look of Dirk’s book could be nicer. Of course this is primarily an aesthetic issue, but it would also have made the book easier to read. I don’t mean that it’s difficult to read. Not at all! But when some lines are abruptly broken up so that one line only has a couple of words in it, while the next covers the whole breadth of the page, you don’t have the optimal conditions for reading the book. But of course it doesn’t mean that you can’t read the book. It would just have made the book even better, and it doesn’t need to take that much time to fix this little problem.

Not only do you get Dirk’s own book, “Web Site and Ezine Promotion Made Easy!”, when you buy it, but in addition you get a LOT of bonus ebooks and reports.

There are so many bonus ebooks that I won’t go into details about each one. I’ll just mention a few.

First, you’ll get "Internet Cash Machines!" (by Allen Says) which in my opinion is a very, very good book. The only “problem” (if you can call it that) is that you’ll now get this book as a free bonus almost everywhere. But if you don’t have it, you’ll get it as a bonus to Dirk’s book. And as I said, I really think it’s a good little book. Allen Says really knows his stuff, and he has a way of making complicated stuff easy to understand.

"7 Secrets To Unlimited Traffic", also by Allen Says, is another bonus which you get together with Dirk’s book. This book you’ll be able to get a lot of places on the Internet, too.

I really like this book too. Again, Allen has a way of making the complicated simple and uncomplicated, and he really knows how to market on the Internet.

Next, you’ll get Wayne Perkins’ book, “A Cheap And Easy Guide to Self-Publishing eBooks”. This book is in some respects a good book. It gives you a good overview over some important resources and tools you can use when you want to publish and promote your ebook, though you’ll find much better resource lists in other books, for instance Kristie Tamsevicius’ book. But you may be able to find a few resources here which you won’t find in Kristie’s excellent book.

The problem with Wayne’s book is that most of it’s information is rather basic. Recently, I bought another little book by Wayne Perkins, which promised to show you can write and publish your own ebook in just an hour. The book did only cost a few bucks, but honestly it isn’t worth the price. It is so superficial that I didn’t like the book at all. It simply didn’t deliver. I seriously considered for the first time in my life to ask for a refund, but then I found out that you can’t get a refund. And that’s quite understandable. Anyway, you might find some helpful tips and resources in this book. And of course you can’t blame Dirk’s package for the low quality of Wayne Perkins’ other book. And I don’t mean that “A Cheap And Easy Guide to Self-Publishing eBooks” is useless. Not at all! It gives you a fine overview over some parts of the e-book publishing business. But still you’ll be able to find much better advice in other places, for instance in Dirk Dupon’s own book (the book of this review). Despite of these critical remarks, I think “A Cheap And Easy Guide to Self-Publishing eBooks” is a fine supplementary bonus to Dirk’s more extensive book.

Another bonus you’ll get with Dirk’s book, is "Yahoo! Secret Classifieds Report" written by Jimmy D. Brown. This book is a really fine little book, in my opinion. It shows you an alternative and often overlooked way of getting traffic to your web site.

You’ll also get "How to Make up to $700 or More on the Internet in Only 7 Days or Less!" and "How to Increase Your Website Sales up to 1700% in 17 Days or Less!" which are both written by Jerome Chapman, who is also the owner of "Online Marketing Money Machine" and TopEzineAds.com. These are two really fine books on how you can earn money through publishing and running your ezine.

You’ll get several other bonuses too, some of which are really good. Most of the bonuses you can get for free at other places if you take the time to search for them. This doesn’t mean that they are worthless as bonuses. Not at all! Dirk has just made it easy for you to get them here, and some of them you’ve probably never heard of before.

Summary

Dirk Dupon has written a helpful and unique book which will make it much easier and more effective for you to market your web site and your ezine. Despite a little criticism, I really like the book, and I’ll certainly consult it in the future.

The many bonuses just enhances the value of “Web Site and Ezine Promotion Made Easy!”, even though you can get most of them for free elsewhere, and even though their quality differs. But you’ll find much helpful information here too which will supplement the information in Dirk’s book.

If you want to become more effective at promoting your web site and your ezine, I certainly think that Dirk’s book should belong to your library. You’ll learn a lot of techniques here that will make it much easier for you to promote your web site and your ezine effectively.
