A major problem in a very lucrative industry

More and more online entrepreneurs discover that the Internet is just one media through which to make good income.

If you take a look at the most successful Internet marketers, you'll notice that they increasingly begin to focus on off-line (physical) products and services.

One of the most profitable steams of income is selling consulting and coaching services. Some marketers sell both services, while others focus on just one of them.

However, probably the most serious hindrance and stumble stone to many aspiring consultant and coaches, is how that they can market and promote their consulting and coaching businesses. And the same problem applies to more established consultants and coaches as well.

If you scan a good local bookshop or go to one of the larger online bookshops, you'll probably be able to spot several books promising to show you how to market service business.

However, personally I've found many of these books to be too simplistic or too stereotyped.

"Send out press- and newsreleases," they advise you to do. "Publishing a newsletter is an excellent idea," they tell you. "Cold-calling is tough, but it's one of the most effective ways of getting new clients," one well known author counsels you to do. Others tell you to use Direct Mail. And you'll get all kinds of different advice.

Often you get the impression that much of their advice is far removed from the real world. Not that these methods don't work - because they really do, provided you know exactly how to apply them to your real-world business.

Recently I found a new web site owned by the author of this course, David Frey. David Frey is one of the most successful business consultants I've heard of. In fact, I recently heard that his own methods of marketing a consultant and coaching practise works so well that he had to dramatically raise his fees and say "No" to any new clients.

So, you can imagine that a guy like me who's really interested in effective marketing got very curious.

I got his course, and here is my opinion...

Based on a marketing boot camp

However, before we go on, let me give you a few words on the background of this course.

As the name of this course says, it's content is taken from David Frey's marketing boot camp for consultant and coaches. And when you go through the content, you almost get the impression that you've personally been on the boot camp. That's how lively David Frey delivers the material you get.

And now back to the question...

What do you get in this course?

Let me start with saying that I was really impressed with the amount of information you get at this membership site. It stands in strong contrast to some of the other short guides I alluded to above.

In fact, you could easily feel overwhelmed by the amount of information you get - if not it was for the helpful navigation David Frey provides you with.

Exactly this navigation is one of the really fine aspects of this package. Personally I just hate it when you invest in a fine product but get so overwhelmed and confused by the information that you don't know where to start and where to end.

It doesn't help you that you get a lot of information if you can't find exactly the information you need and get a good overview over the content.

But that's exactly what you do at this membership site.

In addition to all the articles, the reports and audio sessions produced by David Frey himself, you also get a lot of valuable information created by others.

Let me mention one example: Somehow David Frey has managed to include a transcript of a teleseminar by Robin Robins and Alex Mandossian, "Answers To The 9 Most Important Questions About Generating Qualified Leads".

You probably already know Alex Mandossian who's generally hold to be one of the most clever copywriters and marketers today.

You may not know Robin Robins, but she is considered to be one of the most clever experts on lead generation. Her course on this subject has gotten raving reviews from successful business owners. It costs quite a lot, but in this transcript (enclosed with David Frey's bootcamp course) you get her thoughts on the subject.

There are many other valuable and important articles and reports that you get as part of the system.

One of these is the fine report on how to earn more money by stop sending out all those proposals to prospects who aren't interested anyway. It's written by Tom St. Louis who discovered a much better alternative that really boosted his profits.

And you get several other fine reports on how to stop sending out unnecessary quotes and proposals - but at the same time getting more serious prospects.

The meat of the system

I've already mentioned several important parts of this package. However, the meat of the system is David Frey's 17 step marketing model for consultants and coaches.

This 17 step model covers everything you need to market your own consulting or coaching business. And yes, in my experience you can easily use the same 17 steps to market most other service businesses too.

David begins with showing you the important of laying a strong foundation for your service business. It's not a good idea to just have a vague idea of what you'll do and then jump ahead and try to target just 'everyone'.

No, says Frey, you need to discover exactly who you're going to sell you service to. And you need to have a well thought through marketing plan that'll guide all the way towards a blooming business.

It's impossible to cover all parts of the 17 step system here. But let me just mention that David Frey strongly emphasizes the importance of building a strong relationship with a good niche market through multiple facet marketing approach.

He shows you how to build a strong foundation and then how to get your first - and most difficult - clients by using the same marketing principles that has proven so effective in his own consulting business.

Step-by-step

"The Coaches and Consultant's Marketing Boot Camp" is very much a step-by-step guide to marketing your practise.

I've now observed what David Frey is doing for some time, and it's my impression that this is characteristic for his marketing approach.

David Frey covers everything, from using the Internet to build your practise to using Direct Mail and getting publicity for your business.

For example, you get a complete guide to writing your own marketing plan for your service business, whether it's a consulting practise, a coaching practise or something else. I'm very impressed by this detailed guide which turns writing a marketing plan into a pleasant and much easier task.

David Frey also goes into details on how to target your marketing to niche markets. You really get a lot of excellent help on this point. Frey obviously knows what he's talking about.

He's also included some useful articles and audio files by other famous and successful marketers - both on Niche Marketing and on other subjects.

Let me mention just one more really commendable part of this impressive package: David Frey gives you a lot of real-life example of how both himself and others have marketed their services through writing articles, ads, sales letters etc.

For example, he has added nine sample articles showing you exactly how to get publicity for your business through writing articles and columns in niche magazines.

In many other books and courses on marketing a consulting business you get a lot of theory and maybe a few real-life examples. And that's it.

But this is definitely not the case with "The Coaches and Consultant's Marketing Boot Camp". The package is literally packed with real-life examples and illustrations plus analysis of marketing campaigns.

In my opinion this is about the closest you get to having your own, personal marketing consultant sitting besides you and helping you step-by-step to marketing your practise.

Overall assessment

I'm really impressed by how much high quality information you get in this package. When you read the sales letter you do get the impression that you get a lot, but after you've ordered the package, you'll be surprised how much content you get.

Personally speaking, I've never seen as detailed and exhaustive a consultant toolkit as this one. But it's not only big; what's even better is that the content is excellent.

In my humble opinion, you don't get it much better than here. David Frey lifts every stone and searches every corner, and if you're a consultant I think that an investment in this product will be one of your smartest moves.

That's how good I think this product is.
