How You Can Succeed Selling Information
Do you often surf on the Internet, hoping that you'll one day find a way to earn more money? Maybe after having surfed around for a while, you've found out that the best way to earn money on the Internet, is by selling information.
And now you wonder if it's really possible for you to succeed in the information business.
They've Made Millions
You hear and read about all these people that began with practically nothing and then made it to the stars. You read about the millions, they've made selling information, and other kinds of products, through Direct Marketing. You see all the websites on the Internet, telling amazing stories about people who are earning fortunes by selling their products over the Internet.
Let me just mention a few of these people here…
Joe Karbo
I suppose you've read about Joe Karbo. Joe sold millions of his self-published books, and he became a millionaire doing so.
As you may know, his best known and most successful book was "The Lazy Man's Way To Get Rich". Joe did market this book all over the United States by placing big display ads in newspapers and magazines. And the book became a huge success. Since then a lot of people have tried to do the same as Joe Karbo did. And some of them seemed to do quite well, too.
Jeff Paul
Maybe you've heard about Jeff Paul! He's another example of an enormously successful entrepreneur. Jeff Paul on the edge of bankruptcy, when he suddenly found the key to succeeding in the information business. And consequently he is a multimillionaire today. Does he sweat and work endless hours?
Not according to himself! He says that he only spends a couple of hours per day on his business. Jeff loves to fish and be together with his family, so he uses most of his time with his family or fishing.
Sounds exciting, doesn't it?
Corey Rudl
You may also have heard about Corey Rudl who sells his books and courses on the Internet and earns hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars doing so. And he can do it in the privacy of his own home and only needs a little bit assistance from two secretaries (if I am remembering correct). How much time does he need to put into his business to do so? According to himself only about two hours of marketing per day. And the beauty of it all is that he can do almost from everywhere in the world. The only thing he needs is a laptop-computer, a modem and a phone line (even a mobile phone will do).
And you have read about so many other marketers who have done very well by selling information. I could easily have continued and continued for many pages.
Can Their Success Become Yours?
Honestly, wouldn't you like to copy their success and be able to live the same life?
Maybe you wouldn't even dream about laying around idle if you did earn as much money as Joe Karbo. Maybe you hate to fish. So you would spend your free-time totally different than Jeff Paul. And maybe you would instead use all your time working in some kind of charity work. Maybe you would instead use your free-time on your hobby. Or you would like to lay on the beach. Or maybe you would spend some more time with your family.
No matter how you would spend your free-time, I suppose most of us would like the freedom succeeding in Direct Marketing (offline and online) has given many people.
So Of Course I Understand If You Are Asking:
Can I Really Copy Their Success?
Maybe you ask:
"Can I really do the same?"
"Can I really succeed selling information products?"
After having carefully considered this question for a long time, my definite answer is:
YES!
YES, YOU CAN!
YOU CAN SUCCEED!
Yes, I really believe that you can also succeed selling information products, just like Joe Karbo, Jeff Paul and Corey Rudl. Maybe you won't copy their precise way of selling information, but if you use some proven methods, I am sure you can do it, too.
Tell Me How To Succeed
"But how can I then succeed," you ask.
Maybe you have been reading and reading about how profitable the information business for a long time now.
You have bought course after course on how to produce and sell your own info products. Through all these courses and books you heard about secret after secret, technique after technique. But still you're not sure if you know the real secret behind succeeding.
"What is the real secret then? And I mean THE secret!"
Let me say this:
The Secret Is A Secret To Most People
You see, a lot of people have so many false concetions!
Conceptions that destroy their future success!
Before we to THE SECRET behind succeeding, let's take a short look at a few misconceptions!
Techniques Are Not The Secret
Many so called "experts" say that the real secret behind succeeding is knowing the right TECHNIQUES.
But you may have learned an awful lot of techniques, and you're still not succeeding.
So learning a lot of techniques is not the real secret behind succeeding. They're certainly part of succeeding.
But again, they're not the REAL secret. And again I mean THE secret that determines whether the other secrets will do you any good.
Again...
Money Is Not The Secret
Other "experts" say that you have to have a lot of money, if you want to succeed.
One wellknown mail order expert once tried to convince me that I needed at least $5,000 just to get started in mail order. (By the way, he said I had to pay HIM these $5,000. If I did so, he would help me to take the first steps towards succeeding. Besides, I would have to resell HIS products. You can be sure that I kindly abstained from doing business with this "expert".)
Maybe you don't have a lot of money. Can you ever succeed then?
Let me encourage you, the reason some people succeed and other fail, is usually NOT that the first has money, while the second don't. The real secret behind succeeding is not money.
The Real Key To Success
What is the major factor in your success?
You may have heard that it's…
a thorough knowledge of your product an understanding of the importance of service a lot of techniques
No one of these points are THE most important factor in your success. Important as they are, no one of them are THE secret of succeeding in business.
What then is THE SECRET?
The Secret - Humanly Speaking - Is YOU!!!
"What?", you say. "Are you joking? Of course it's me. It's pure common sense!"
I really hope so! But unfortunately it isn't always so self-evident as you should think it is.
You see, it's so easy to fall for the temptation to place all your trust in the technology.
But if you don't see to it that everything in your business runs as it should, your business will severely suffer.
The technology may automatically run for a time on it's own. But ultimately - and please forgive me, if you are technology freak - technology is stupid. It's intelligence will only last for so long. It will just do what it's programmed to do. And if some changes occur that the programmer of the software or the creator of the technology didn't take into account, then the software or other kind technology will fail. That is, if not YOU give it other instructions or replace it with an update.
Your business is totally dependent on how much energy you put into it. You can have all the technology in the world, but if you don't handle the different tasks connected with running your business, your business will sooner or later suffer from it.
So you definitely need to put your energy into your business.
The "Real" Reason Most Entrepreneurs Fail
The real reason most new entrepreneurs fail is not too few techniques, too little or too bad technical knowledge, too bad software, too bad machinery, too little money, too bad a product or whatever most people would think of.
No, the real reason - humanly speaking - so many new entrepreneurs fail is PSYCHOLOGICAL!!!
More correctly, it's the psyche of the entrepreneur that most often is the major reason for failure in business.
Many entrepreneurs have an excellent product. They know a lot of effective techniques. They have a fair amount of money. They are enthusiastic about their business. But they don't personally have what it takes to endure long enough to succeed.
If you can't manage your emotions, can't manage your will, can't motivate yourself, can't endure long enough, can't overcome procrastination, can't stand criticism, you will make it almost impossible for yourself to succeed.
All of this depends upon the strength of your psyche.
Your Checkpoints
Here are a few important points on which you have to put your psychological energy.
Don't underestimate the short description of each point. A whole book could easily be written on each of these points. But if you carefully take head to each of these points, you'll be a major step closer to the success you want have. Of course there are many other important advices to follow if you want to succeed. But here are some of the more important. Let these advices be part of YOUR particular way of running your business. Let them be part of YOUR BUSINESS PERSONALITY.
How You Can Succeed
"How can I succeed, then?"
Here is a few important answers:
By constantly LEARNING THE SECRETS in your business
By continuously PRACTICING what you learn
By LEARNING FROM OTHERS - copycating their products and their marketing
By constantly TESTING every new move you take
By using TECHNOLOGY to automate as many processes as possible
By treating each of your customers as an INDIVIDUAL HUMAN BEINGS, and not just checks and credit card payments.
By LISTENING TO YOUR CUSTOMERS. Let them tell you what you could do better in your business. And remember to follow their advices.
By making it EASY FOR YOU TO SUCCEED - making your starting point one of success (don't have expensive habits. Live in an inexpensive area if possible). Be sure that you can afford to fail, as product developer Bill Myers say.
Most important of all: By BEING A PERSON OF INTEGRITY. YOU - yes, YOU - are (humanly speaking) the decisive factor for whether your business will be a success or a failure
By having YOUR HEART WITH YOU in your business. Don't comprise your innermost convictions and wants just to earn some money. Do what you really want to do.
DON'T BECOME TOO AMBITIOUS. In the long run you'll risk sacrificing your integrity, ethical convictions and family life.
By MANAGING YOUR TIME. If you don't, time and your circumstances will manage you. Learn to overcome PERFECTIONISM.
DON'T EXPECT YOUR BUSINESS TO SOLVE ALL PROBLEMS AND MAKE YOUR HAPPY, IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY AND SATISFIED NOW. Be sure that you have a secure basis for your life and happiness that's independent of the state of your business.
Follow these advices and your chance of succeeding in your business will be much larger.
You may think that there are some other, much more important factors in succeeding as an infopreneur.
But don't underestimate the vital importance of these factors. Investing in YOURSELF will mean a lot more for your business in the long run, than a few techniques or the latest technology.
Smart techniques and good technology are very important. But if they are not backed up by YOU and YOUR personal resources, the smart techniques and modern technology won't help you much.
Investing in YOURSELF as a person will mean a solid foundation for your business.
In some of the future editions of THE DIRECT MARKETING REVIEW we will go more into details on how YOU can create a strong basis for your information business.
We will of course also cover some of the tools you can successfully use to run and promote your information business successfully.
Your reward will be a MUCH, MUCH more strong basis than most new infopreneurs have.
So just hang out and we will go on together!
I really wish you and your business the very best future!
