Alpha Del Bosque: "How to create killer mini-sites that sell like crazy!"
Mini sites have been hot for a while now. Probably the major reasons are 1) that they're easy to make, 2) quickly to make, 3) relatively inexpensive to make, and 4) highly effective - provided that you know how to make them.
That's exactly what Alpha del Bosque shows you in this ebook. "How to create killer mini-sites that sell like crazy!" is a guide to making your own mini-sites.
One of the most helpful parts of this book is the general template that Alpha Del Bosque gives her readers in section 2. What she has done is showing her readers section-by-section what you ought to put on your mini-sites if you want to make them as effective as possible.
The section on copywriting is written by Miguel Alvarez who is one of the most successful entrepreneurs on the Internet. I've read many books on copywriting, but even though this is just a single section, and not a complete book, I found this section really good and better than many longer books. Miguel has put a lot of useful information in this section. Besides, the way this section is set up, gives you a really good overview over the copywriting process.
The chapter on different mini-site strategies is really good and very helpful. This part of the book will help you to formulate your own effective strategy for your mini-site.
The chapter on promoting your mini-sites, is really good and right to the point. It isn't a longer treatise. But you'll know enough to get started.
But you won't just learn to create mini-sites, through this book. Alpha Del Bosque also covers such subjects as copywriting, information product creation, how to sell affiliate products and hosting your mini-sites.
When I read this book, at several places I got the impression that the intention is to market some of the affiliate programs which Alpha Del Bosque links to in some of the sections. This is of course totally okay. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. However, I ask myself if this interest has limited the number of resources Alpha has linked to in the book, and if she's a little biased in the selection of the resources. Again, it's of course totally okay to place link to affiliate programs in a book. But if you get the impression that the resources that are linked to are limited to certain affiliate programs, you might feel that you miss something.
This is not a serious criticism of "How to create killer mini-sites that sell like crazy!" which is otherwise a really good and helpful book.
Overall assessment
Alpha Del Bosque's book is a fine introduction to creating mini-sites. Alpha primarily focuses on mini-sites from a marketing and psychological perspective, which is very commendable. However, some readers might also want to know something about the more practical and technical aspects (html, use of web-editor etc.) of building mini-sites. However, there's no doubt that it's the marketing aspect that's most crucial for the failure or success of your mini-sites. And that's rightly what Alpha focuses on here.
If you want to know how to create mini-sites through which you'll sell your products, I think "How to create killer mini-sites that sell like crazy!" is a really good starting place.
